Growing up just like many artists, Silent Fox started creating and drawing what she loved. Fox would draw my favorite cartoon characters and as she was in class, she would draw on the side of my notebooks. When looking back Fox never realized how often she was creating and didn’t become an artist until she was encouraged by friends and family.
When beginning her career as a professional or emerging artist she question my identity; wondering where Fox would fit in or who she was as an artist. Fox felt in the creative industry you have to have a style that makes it simple for people to understand or relate to; to identify with and feel connected to the artist. She often though want to think that for people it’s more of a sense “oh well she does this; it consists and because I know this information I have a fuller understanding of who the artist is”. This is a great opportunity for the artist but that’s not the artist she like to be.
As an artist ,Silent Fox work is always changing. This is due to the fact her work steams from exploration, to be able to see things that she wouldn’t have before. “Just looking from a new/different perspective is beautiful; you never know what you’re going to see and learn.”-Silent Fox
For a great period of her life, Silent Fox felt like she was trapped in a space where she knew what she wanted, and I knew what she was doing as an artist but question if it was the right thing. she felt lost and felt she should be doing something else, not for myself but to please society
Fox’s work is about life experience not only mine but observing and listening to stories peoples speak of. She takes that knowledge and reflects it into a pieces of art, she believes “it’s a magical feeling, allowing me to open my mind and reflect on the wonders of life. To try to understand multiple perspectives surrounding me.” She explore things she doesn’t know, giving me the ability to access the unknown. “You began to notice no matter how hard it is, it’s an easy way to start projects; not knowing and growing from that. With society's problems, you look at it and want to reflect but don’t know how to address the situation. with art it allows me to do just that.”
